Carlos Slim's bank, Grupo Financiero Inbursa, agreed to acquire Wal Mart de Mexico's bank division. Inbursa has agreed to pay 1.7 times Walmex bank's capital at the exact moment the deal closes. The potential value of the deal is $246.9 million based on current capital. The supermarket's bank unit is focused on credit cards and lending to customers. Earlier this year Walmex sold its restaurant division as the company wants to focus more on its supermarket business.
