Last week the former President of Qualcomm Inc., Steve Mollenkopf was named as the news chief executive officer of the company. Today the company announced it was increasing his salary to $1.1 million and gave him stock worth $50 million over the next five years. Mollenkopf is also eligible for cash bonuses that can amount to 200% of his salary. For 2013 he was paid $805,582 as part of a $14.2 million salary package. The raise and promotion came on the same week that Bloomberg News announced that Microsoft was looking at Mollenkopf as a candidate to become the next executive chief for the company.
