Adidas AG has agreed to pay $1.3 billion dollar to supply London's most popular soccer club, Manchester United, with jerseys and other kits for the next ten years. The deal is a record for any soccer club and doubles the deal Adidas already has with Spain's Real Madrid. Nike was sponsoring the club since 2002 until earlier this month when they pulled out of a bidding war with Adidas. This means the 2014-2015 season will be the last season for Nike as one of the clubs partners. Herbert Hainer; Chief Executive for Adidas said, "This collaboration marks a milestone for us when it comes to merchandising potential. We expect total sales to reach 1.5 billion pounds during the duration of our partnership."
