Nissan Motor Co Ltd’s North American unit announced it is recalling about 300,000 vehicles in the United States and 29,000 vehicles in Canada to fix a console panel. The vehicles being recalled have a console trim panel that could catch the driver’s shoe and potentially ruin pedal operation, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in a statement on its website. The recall is expected to begin by mid-October. Nissan North American spokesman Steve Yaeger said, “We have had an accident with injury related to this issue.” The model years for the recall are 2012-2015 Nissan Versa Sedan, 2014-2015 Versa Note and 2014-2015 Micra vehicles.
