Today Yahoo! Inc. apologized for an issue that has knocked out access to the service for some users since Dec. 9. The web portal revamped it email service in October. Jeffrey Bonforte, a senior vice president at Yahoo!, said in a statement on the company's website, "Dozens of people are working around the clock to bring it to a resolution" and that, "The issue has been harder to fix than we originally expected." The company said it expected access to be restored by 3 p.m. San Francisco time, at 3:30 the company said some customers still weren't getting access to their messages and would send a new update at 5 p.m. The new CEO Marissa Mayer redesigned the email service, which is used by over 100 million daily users. Since its launch users have complained about software issues as well as the appearance of the page, including search options, and other details that mirror Google's Gmail.
