The U.S.'s fourth largest mobile phone carrier, T-Mobile, plans to sell shares worth $1.8 billion in order to raise money to acquire more wireless airwaves. The sell off of the 66.2 million shares will be managed by many of Wall Streets giants including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., JPMorgan Chase & Co., Credit Suisse, Group AG and Deutsche Bank AG. The $1.8 billion valuation is based on yesterdays closing price of $26.97 for T-Mobile shares. If you're wondering why would T-Mobile want to buy more wireless air waves, its because wireless spectrum has become very valuable and important to allowing customers to use the internet on their mobile devices. Its hard to get airwaves you usually have to buy it from someone, or buy them at a government auction.
