Amazon.com unveiled its first smartphone named the Fire Phone. The phone comes with a feature called Firefly, which will make Amazon.com an even greater threat to brick and mortar retailers. Firefly allows you to scan items and purchase them on Amazon. Robert Sorokanich of Gizmodo said the Firefly feature, "turns the Fire Phone into a sort of universal object scanner that'll recognize books, DVDs, or jars of Nutella, and help you buy them from Amazon." Amazon already offers lower prices than traditional retailers which in turn has gained it market share. Even thought Fire Fly makes it easier for customers to shop on Amazon.com its still not guaranteed someone will rather wait to have an item delivered to their house instead of buying it on sight just cause its a little more expensive.
