Construction spending increased 0.8% in October, which was higher than the 0.4% economists were expecting. This follows September's 0.3% decline. Economists warned their numbers might be off due to the government shutdown. Peter D'Antonio an analysts for Citi Bank said, "This makes the already revision prone construction data a particularly rough cut this time."
