Seattle's city council voted unanimously to approve a raise in the city's minimum wage to $15 and hour, which is suppose to be phased in over the next seven years. According to the plan, businesses with fewer than 500 workers must raise wages to $15 an hour over the next seven years, while larger companies must do it within the next three years, four years if they provide health insurance.
