Trader Joe's Co. a popular grocery chain here in New York and other parts of the country, will stop all health benefits it is currently giving to part time workers starting next year, and instead is encouraging them to buy insurance offered by the U.S. Affordable Care Act. In a email today the company said instead of receiving benefits employees who work less than 30 hours a week will get a $500 payment from Trader Joe's that is suppose to go towards helping them buy insurance. I'm not surprised to hear about this and I know its great the company gives them a bonus to help buy their insurance, but how would you feel and what would you do if you job took away your health benefits?
