AES Corp, a power company based in the United States, announced a plan to invest $1 billion to double electricity generation capacity in Mexico, as it enters the country's new wholesale power market. Juan Ignacio Rubiolo runs AES's Mexican unit, said the company expects to gain from sweeping energy reform and hopes to grow beyond its three existing power plants, which generate 1,050 megawatts together.
