FireEye Inc. the cybersecurity firm has acquired Mandiant Corp. the computer forensics specialist who unveiled the secret Chinese military unit that is believed to be responsible for a series of hacking attacks on U.S. companies. The deal amounts to $1.05 billion in both cash and stocks. The deal brings together two firms with new technology in stopping cyber attacks along with two of the most respected heads in the security industry, Dave DeWalt the CEO of FireEye and Kevin Mandia, the found of Mandiant. Analysts are expecting growth for both FireEye's cloud based systems for finding malicious software and Mandiant's software for analyzing cyber attacks.
