Avid Life Media, the parent company for infidelity website Ashley Madison, announced hundreds of thousands of people signed up for the site last week, even after hackers released data about millions of clients. The company also fired back at reports that the site had a small number of real female users, saying internal data released by the hackers was incorrectly analyzed. In a statement the firm said, “Recent media reports predicting the imminent demise of Ashley Madison are greatly exaggerated” adding, “Despite having our business and customers attacked, we are growing.” In August hackers leaked Ashley Madison customer data, containing email, and other personal information. Avid Life said, “Last week alone, women sent more than 2.8 million messages within our platform.” On Friday the company’s CEO Noel Biderman left the company by mutual agreement.
