BlackBerry Ltd.'s board does not believe that breaking up the smartphone would be in the best interest of everyone. The board has rejected offers from several technology companies for various assets of BlackBerry, while others have offered to by the company as a whole. They don't think a breakup would benefit all stakeholders in the company including employees, customers, and suppliers as well as shareholders. Microsoft, Apple, and Lenovo have all expressed interest in BlackBerry assets, such as patents and intellectual property.
